We just had Verizon FIOS installed today, and everything is great with the exception of one thing. One of our TV's is in the kitchen mounted under the kitchen cabinet. When I placed the order the Verizon rep assured me that there was a smaller box that was used for this type of TV since the regular Motorola box is bigger than the TV itself and can't be mounted under a cabinet. So, naturally, when the tech arrived today he rolled his eyes and said there are no boxes like that. I think he'd heard that one before.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Surely I can't be the first person who wants FIOS in the kitchen for their little under-mount TV??? Thanks!

I am not aware of any smaller set top box options. The QIP 2500 is the smallest. There are cable cards, but I doubt your under-cabinet TV accepts a cable card. I would suggest one of the following: 1- Stick with the basic channels accessible without a set top box. These are the local public broadcast channels. 2- Put the setup box in a nearby cabinet. The only problem is the remote needs line of site to operate the box. 3- Put the setup box somewhere else out of the way where line of sight is possible, i.e. on top of the refrigerator. 4- Use the basic channels without a set top box PLUS connect an RF modulator to your living room box and broadcast on an open channel. If you wanted to watch something other than the basic channels, tune the kitchen TV to the RF modulator channel and tune the living room set top box to the channel of your choice.

There is a smaller box, but it provides NO interactivity (program guide, VOD), only digital programing. It is the Motorola DCT-700. It is approx 6"x6"x2". The box was just distributed this month in Jersey and may not be widely distributed across the rest of the Verizon footprint.
