The boxes are NOT currently available for sale. The current lease price is $15.99 per month for the HD DVR box. I can offer some suggestions to reduce costs:

1)If you don't need DVR capabilities on every TV then you could lease the non-DVR HD box for $9.99 per month or a standard definition for less. With Home Media DVR you can have one DVR box with Home Media DVR service for $19.99 per month and connect up to 6 SD or HD boxes to access the recorded content.

2)You can access local channels HD and SD with any device that has a QAM tuner (Digital Cable Ready). Access to these channels would not require any equipment to be leased.

3)If you have TVs that accept cable cards, you can lease FiOS cable cards for $3.99 per month. This will give you access to all subscribed channels SD and HD, but no access to interactive features like widgets or video on demand.

4)You can purchase Tivo boxes and pay for Tivo service. To access the FiOS content you will still need to lease a cable card from Verizon for $3.99 per month.
