I had Fios installed today. When I came home I found the Fios optical network terminal was not put on the exterior wall.
Just a battery backup was put into the garage. I noticed all my neighbors have terminals installed outside. I fell there is a
bad reason why the technician did not this terminal. Is there anything I miss here?

The tech may have placed an indoor "all-in-one" unit that combines the power portion with the ONT. The ONT does not need to be placed on the exterior of your home. Hope that helps

I requested they install it indoors. I have it in my garage and the only thing outside is the wire coming from the street. I didn't like the idea of it being outside the house exposed to the elements and I don't like the look of a large box outside my house.
