Fios - External storgage for DVRs Options

I running out of storage room on my HD DVR and would like to hook up an external HD. Verizon says this is in develpoment and will be avaialble "someday".
I have the Motorola QIP 6414-2, can anyone help out?

Sorry still no solution as of yet, other than using a TiVo box and FiOS cable cards.
