I have a quite detailed question that still should be easy to answer. One MAJOR reason we left Comcast and went with DISH is that they “upgraded” us from the Microsoft DVR software last year (we live in Seattle, one of a few areas that had an alternate guide) and there was one area that even my wife could not stand.

When in the guide - if you cannot remember a channel - i.e. you think it is channel 300 and that channel does not exist - what happens? With our “upgraded” Comcast the guide would just sit there - basically ignoring that you do not know the specific channel. With DISH - the guide switches to the closest channel - at least giving you hope that you will find the channel you are looking for.

Please advise - your review is tremendous and has made considering the switch much easier!

I can confirm that with the new guide (IMG 2.0), when you enter a channel that does not exist, the guide moves to the closest available channel.
