I have a question regarding using a used set top box. I saw alot of these on ebay and thought it would be a great deal to replace my set top box instead of renting it. any ideas if this is allowed?

I've heard of set top boxes being purchased on ebay: They may work initially, but Verizon will likely disable the box (by serial number) if its not being paid for.

Verizon does not sell it's equipment to customers.

It may work for a brief period of time. In order for the box to work correctly, it needs to be initialized and activated. As soon as you attempt to activate it, they will see that it should be on another account and that it was never returned to Verizon.

Caveat Emptor!
