Can you get FIOS without the land-line? I do not need a land-line (phone) since I have a cell-phone.

Yes of course you can order FiOS Internet and/or FiOS TV, with or without phone service. Most of the offers you see are for FiOS Triple Play which does require land line service.

Are u sure? As far as I can tell the phone is a VoIP phone not a landline. Notice the references to E911 ...
Of course some may call VoIP a landline ..

Why does my land line die after 5 hrs. when the electrical power is off? The remotes I understand, but why the landline and what can I do about it if anything?

Fios uses a battery, in which your phone service will die when the battery does. The TV and internet will cut out immediately, and only phone will work in order to save bettery. Old copper lines will only go out if the central office goes out, as the phone company transfers the power over the line.
