Verizon has not been able to assist regarding this issue. Kitchen wall mount flat screen with no place to install or rest converter box and Verizon has no equipment small enough with extended infrared eye to activate tv channels. They sent me to Radio Shack which is a waste also. Any ideas? I’m not happy with Verizon overall service though the FiOs internet is much better than their DSL.

Basically you have two options:

1. Get a TV with a cable card slot and lease the FiOS cable card from Verizon to get all your channels. The cable card obviously would fit inside the tv and therefore does not require any external set top box.

2. Lease a standard set top box or the smaller digital converter (DCT-700), and hide it in a nearby cabinet. Obviously you'll need to run a cable from the box to the TV and from FiOS to the box. To be able to control the box through a closed cabinet door, you'll need a remote extender like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Ne...-Extender/dp/B000C1Z0HA/

Thanks for the response. I'll check out the extender option as have no intention of buying another TV. Overall, Verizon has been a real pain in the back side as their DSL never worked for 18 months at my home and though the tried, it never did work and FiOs has been quite good but the TV issue is another matter. thanks again. ww
